Date: 22 September 2009 BROCKLEBANK : ‘FIFE LEADING THE WAY IN RECYCLING’ Fife is one of the top recyclers in the country according to new figures released by the Scottish Government. Fife’s total recycling rate of 43% is the third best in the country and well above the national target of 30%.
Commenting, Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife, Ted Brocklebank, said;
“All Fifers should be very proud of this news and I am particularly pleased that we are giving such a strong lead to the rest of the country in our efforts to increase recycling.
“Over the past four years there has been a year on year rise of nearly 5% in Fife’s recycling rate. Both the public and the Council should be commended for their efforts to increase recycling and I am sure Fife’s recycling rate will only continue to rise in the future.”
