BROCKLEBANK CONGRATULATES MADRAS COLLEGE DEBATING TEAM

Commenting on his parliamentary motion congratulating Madras College on reaching the final of the 2009 Donald Dewar Memorial Debating Tournament, to be held in the Scottish Parliament on 11 June 2009, Ted Brocklebank, Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife, said;

“I am delighted that Madras College has made it to the final of this year’s Donald Dewar Memorial Debating Tournament. As a former convener of the Madras College debating society I would like to wish the team every success in what I am sure will be a hotly contested and high quality final.

“Madras has a strong tradition in debating and I am pleased that it continues to thrive at the school. I hope the team will enjoy the opportunity of debating in the chamber of the Scottish Parliament and will hopefully succeed in taking the title back to St Andrews.”
